Recitation Terms & Conditions

* Participants must recite their poem from memory.
* Participants may not use props or wear costumes during their recitations.
* Participants must begin by stating the title of the poem and the poet’s name, and the translator, if applicable.
* A Participant’s own editorial comments before or after the poem are not allowed.
* Participants should submit their recitation via online application.

Filming requirements:

* Film with a horizontal orientation.
* Face the camera so it captures your head to mid-torso (medium shot).
* Each recitation should be filmed in one single shot from one static angle.
* Each recitation should have its own link when submitted to us.
* Videos must be uploaded to a file sharing platform with a link when submitted to us (ie: YouTube, Google Drive, Drop Box etc), and each recitation must be a separate link.
* The sound and picture must be clear.
* Videos cannot be edited. Do not add music, graphics, titles, virtual backgrounds, or computer animation.
* Use of professional recording studios is prohibited.
* Each recitation requires its own separate video.

Basics to keep in mind while recording:

* Stand in front of a neutral background, if possible. Try to avoid wearing clothing in similar colors to the background.
* Do not place light sources behind you to avoid being backlit.
* Participants may look directly into the camera, at a fixed spot, or at an imagined audience.
* Make sure you are the only visible and audible person in the video.
* Use a microphone, if possible. If the microphone is on the camera, position the camera close to you.
* Start recording a few seconds before the recitation and stop recording a few seconds after the end.

Kolam / Rangoli Competition Terms & Conditions

* All Rangoli and Kolam should be drawn in a A4 Chart / Paper only on Horizontal Position.
* All your creatives should be sent to the below address by post / courier.

Jury Committee

The Judge’s decision will be the final decision. They can determine the winner of the recital competition by any number of criteria inluding the Tamil vocabulary, Pronunciation, Understanding of the verses, fluency in Tamil. They can determine the winner of the drawing/rangoli competition by any number of criteria inluding the Theme, Creativity and its Uniqueness.

Preliminary Submission:

All registered participants must upload their artwork, and the best 50 drawing sheets from each category will be chosen for final submission.

How will I obtain my registration number?

Within 48 working hours of completing the registration process, the registration number will be sent to the registered WhatsApp number.

How should the artwork be uploaded?

The official notification will be sent to registered participants only via their registered WhatsApp number.

Is it necessary to provide a WhatsApp number?

YES, all official information and updates will be sent only to the registered WhatsApp number.

Is it necessary to include a caption or explanation with the artwork?

Yes (Mandatory)

Is it possible to register a group of friends in a School Bulk Registration?

No, it is not possible; all bulk registrations must be acknowledged or registered by a representative from the school or any registered institution.

Is it okay for the artwork to be in and around the topic for the drawing and rangoli?

Yes, it must fall under the given theme.

The Grand Finale:

Winners will be chosen from the shortlisted Top 25 participants from the preliminary submission with various criteria.

How will I receive my prize money and awards?

The winner of each category will receive a trophy, a medal, and a certificate of merit, and the winner will be announced on the official website, and the prize money cheque and winning materials will be mailed to the residence for individuals/school, based on registration.
